QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Can we see the aurora borealis from the camp?

Yes, if the conditions are right, you can see the northern lights at night, just outside your door. There’s no need to go anywhere else. Being so far away from artificial lights, this is the perfect place north of Kiruna if the sky is clear and there is solar activity.

Are the activities and food included in the price?

Yes, all activities and meals are included in the price. There are no additional fees.

How do we pay? Can we pay by credit card?

We will take payment when you arrive. We accept both cash and credit card.

Your credit card must have a chip.

We accept VISA, Mastercard and American Express, as well as Samsung, Apple and Google Pay.

Is there a vegetarian option?

Yes, just let us know beforehand and we will prepare a vegetarian option for your lunch, dinner and breakfast.

Is there a vegan option?

If you need a vegan option, we recommend you bring your own food. You can use our kitchen for cooking.

Do you have a gluten-free option?

All our food is gluten-free, except the bread. Please bring your own gluten-free bread for lunch and dinner.

Can we take a shower at the camp?

There is a simple shower available in the evenings in the wood-heated sauna.

Will we sleep outside?

No. We have cabins equipped with bunk beds, pillows and duvets.

It is mandatory for everyone to bring your own sheet, duvet cover and pillow case.

If you prefer to bring your own sleeping bag instead that is also OK.

Can we rent sheets at the camp?

No. Unfortunately we can´t rent any sheets since we are located in the middle of the forest without laundry machines, electricity and running water. So it is too complicated, compared with for example a hostel. We really apprechiate that you can bring your own sheets or sleeping bag.

If you like to travel light we can recommend a travel sheet.

How many people live per each cabin?

Up to 12 people will share the same cabin.

Are the cabins warm?

Our cabins are well-insulated and heated by wood-burning stove. You will occasionally need to add wood to the fire. We will naturally provide you with all the details.

Can we charge our cameras and phones at the camp?

Electricity at the camp is very limited. It comes from solar panels and a generator. We recommend that you bring a power bank. It will be possible to charge your things for a few hours during the tour.

Is there phone reception/phone coverage at the camp?

Yes, for most sim cards from abroad there is reception. The Swedish phone companies Telia and Halebop has 5G coverage at the camp.

Can we borrow winter clothes from you?

We can lend you winter boots and snow pants.

How should we dress for the cold?

There is no need to buy expensive, super-thick, high-quality winter gear for just one trip (unless you want to, of course). The best way to dress for cold weather is to layer up. Wear several layers of shirts, pants and socks. Simply wearing a warm hat and scarf will keep 30% of your body heat from escaping. It is also very important to have warm gloves and socks.

How old do you need to be to join the tour?

Generally, people of good health between the ages of 10 and 70 can enjoy this tour. You can pretty much regulate your level of physical exertion. If you feel unsure, send us an e-mail and we will help you figure it out.

What do we need to bring on the tour?

Bring warm clothes: warm gloves, a hat, a scarf, a winter jacket, extra pairs of socks.

A towel for the sauna.

A flashlight or headlamp can be useful.

A powerbank can be useful.

Since we have noticed that people generally want to maximize on the activities up until the last minute, we do not provide lunch on the last day. We recommend that you bring a snack instead.

Yes, we have a storage room at the starting point of the tour where you can leave whatever luggage you don't need. You can retrieve it after the tour.
